Songjiachang Reservoir, also known as Tongshan Lake, is located in Gaoyi Township, Piyang County, Zhumadian City, 22 kilometers east of the county seat, and is located in the upper reaches of the Miyang River of the Tangbai River water system, with a control basin area of 186 square kilometers. The reservoir was built in 1959, after many stops and continuations, completed in May 1969, after many times of reinforcement and improvement, has now become a flood control, irrigation, and has the functions of breeding, power generation, tourism and other functions. The scenery around the reservoir is beautiful, and the Tongshan Lake Scenic Area with the reservoir area as the core was approved as a provincial scenic spot in 1994.
